Multiple Intelligence and its benefits!

Hi everyone! Hope you all are well!

Today I am going to write some interesting things about Multiple Intelligence, and some of its benefits in the field of education.

Multiple intelligence refers to a pattern of thinking that proposes the existence of a range of capacities and abilities, which can be developed by humans based on biological, personal, and social factors. This approach was first published in 1983 by Professor Howard Gardner, a psychologist, researcher, and professor at Harvard University specializing in cognitive skills analysis.

According to professor Gardner, there are nine multiple intelligences such as:

Linguistic Intelligence - the ability to use language to express what you have in mind and also to understand other people.

Logical-Mathematical Intelligence - the ability to think conceptually and abstractly

Spatial Intelligence - the ability to think in images and pictures, to visualize accurately and abstractly

Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence - the ability to control one's body movements and to handle objects skinfully

Musical Intelligence - the ability to produce rhythm, pitch and timbre

Interpersonal Intelligence - the capacity to detect and respond appropriately to the moods, desires of others

Intrapersonal Intelligence - the capacity to be sel-aware and in tune with inner feelings, values, belifs and thinking processes

Natyralist Intelligence - the ability to categorize plants, animals and other objects in natyre

Existential Intelligence - the sensitivity to tackle deep questions about human existence

Men are endowed with multiple intelligences, which reflect the different ways in which people face the world. This means that everyone has different ways of learning and different intelligences which they use in their daily life. While some may perform more from body language, some others learn better between mathematical logic. Moreover some others learn very well in a linguistic environment.

Also, professor Gardner  emphasized that students possess different types of perceptions and moreover learn, memorize, perform and understand in different ways. His theory, Multiple Intelligence Theory, confirms that we are all capable of knowing the world between language, logical-mathematical analysis, field presentation, use of the body to solve problems or do different things as well as through knowing others and oneself.

Multiple Intelligence can be used at any level and for any subject.  In different words, it is not too difficult to use this theory in classroom because each student has their own learning style which determine how easily a student can learn through a certain teaching method.

Futhermore, if we as future teachers use Multiple Intelligences theory with classes of different levels of students, we will notice that our students will achieve better. Students may enjoy such activities, and may become more confident to express their amazing ideas in their own ways moving so toward good achievements.

By applying Multiple Intelligences in their classrooms, teachers reinforce all types of intelligences in each student and also allow for an individual learning process which will enable each student to utilise specific abilities.

To sum up with, Multiple Intelligence Theory can be a powerful and interesting tool with obvious direct impact on the field of education.  As it focuses more on the person's strengths and implies a multiple, systematic and dynamic picture of intelligence, it fosters a significant increase in self-confidence, motivation, teamwork and leadership skills, along with a better understanding and maintenance of information.
